A methodology using only natural materials and suppressing the use of chemical additives, synthetic excipients and other compounds that are not of natural origin with the aim of ensuring the development of natural, effective and safe products

In order to understand this development it is necessary to understand that, in order to formulate a product, raw materials are always added to allow to obtain the final properties necessary for the industrialization of the products, such as compression agents to produce a tablet, anti-glamerants that allow a good fluidity to fill a capsule, or even protective materials to allow for good stability.

Today, most of these materials, very used, are synthetic. In short, galénica is used in medications and supplements, and is the manageable way in which active ingredients are presented to patients, that is, the capsules, the tablets, the bible blisters, etc. “To obtain these galenic forms the active principles are mixed with raw materials that help the formulation, which we call excipients or additives, that allow us to manufacture the products in the desired form, stabilize them and obtain their expected technical characteristics,” explains Chantal Hombourger. In order to eliminate these chemical additives and other substances that are not of natural origin, Arkopharma Laboratorios has developed a methodology that allows the characterization of natural raw materials by knowing the pharmaceutical profile of each. “We have tried hundreds of raw materials without transforming to be as close as possible to their natural form, such as apple fibers, oats, sarracene wheat, banana flour, etc. With the tests we have been able to verify that they have technological properties that by blending with our active principles confer technical properties on the product, allowing it to shape or provide the expected effect (by improving stability, allowing the solubilization of an asset, etc.)”, says Hombourger.

This methodology was patented in 2018 and already has numerous products based on the green gallery. Among its most emblematic products is Arkovital® Pura Energy which contains 100% vegetable ingredients, active ingredients from plant extracts and fruits and excipients based on spirulina and apple.
