Warts are pieces of extra skin that are commonly found on elbows, knees, fingers, face and even on the scalp. Warts that form on the soles are called plantar warts.
Reasons For Wart Formation:
Warts are a result of infection due to the virus HPV. So far, more than 120 types of various HPV viruses have been identified medically. A laboratory test of the type of HPV virus can establish the kind of wart the person will likely suffer from. Warts are generally categorized based on the place of their appearance; so you have genital warts, vaginal warts, plantar warts and even oral warts. Flat warts, seed warts, filiform warts and periungal warts are some more varieties of the warts.
The most common types of warts are those that occur on the hands and feet. Many people don’t take the appearance of warts seriously and end up cutting them with scissors and blades at home. This is not going to help much because the warts will re-appear. Besides, scissors and blades can cause infection in the skin. To remove the warts completely it is important to get rid of the HPV virus entirely.
The medical treatment of warts involves use of vaccination. The vaccination helps prevent warts. Some HPV vaccinations are also known to provide protection against cervical cancer in women.
The simplest and most effective way of treating warts is by using natural and herbal remedies. The treatment can be done at home easily; though the treatments have to be regular if one wants to get rid of the virus successfully.
Home Remedies For Warts
1. Castor Oil
The most commonly used treatment for curing warts at home is by using castor oil. Like mentioned earlier, one has to be regular with the treatment and not expect results overnight. Take castor oil (the quantity should be dependent on the number of warts that have to be treated) and warm it up a bit. Massage the affected areas with warm castor oil. This treatment should be done twice a day for at least 3 months. By the end of the treatment you will see considerable improvement in the condition of your skin. Continue using the castor oil for another month to make the warts disappear completely.
2. Figs
You will require fresh and ripe figs for treating the warts successfully. Take a handful of figs and crush them to draw out their juice. The juice should be massaged on to the warts and left on the skin for 20-30 minutes. After the given time, remove the juice from the skin by wiping it off using a wet towel. This treatment should be done at least four times during the day for 2-3 weeks. Continue the treatment for one more week if the warts are not completely gone by the end of three weeks.
3. Potatoes
Take a raw potato. Ensure that the potato isn’t green in color and has not grown any buds. Peel the potato and throw away the skin. Make medium-sized pieces of the potato. Rub the potato pieces on the warts for 7-10 minutes. This treatment can be done as many number of times during the day as possible. Perform the treatment for at least two weeks to see results. Another effective way of performing the treatment is by securing pulp of potatoes directly over the warts using duct tapes. You can do this treatment at night and sleep with the potato pulp on your face. In the morning remove the duct tapes and the potato pulp. Wash your face with lukewarm water. Recetas faciles y rápidas

Mashed onion can also be applied and secured over the warts and left overnight. In the morning use a medicated soap or paste of chickpea flour to clean the skin and to get rid of the pungent smell of onion. Do not use onion juice on the facial warts. The skin on the face is very sensitive and the strong chemicals in onion can cause the facial skin to burn or turn red and blotchy.

Dandelion is a medicinal herb that is used for treating various skin disorders including warts. Gather 10-12 pieces of the stem of the dandelion flower. Cut the stems into halves and collect the white milk-like substance that oozes from the stems. Apply this white liquid on the warts for 20 minutes. Do this treatment twice a day for a month to see fast results. The chemical composition of the white liquid will remove all the viruses from the warts. This is the best remedy for treating facial warts as the liquid does not harm the sensitive facial skin.
