In the place of milk powder, you can also add a cup of vinegar or a few spoons of baking powder. These two products are also known to provide quick relief to sun burnt skin.
After bathing use a gentle moisturizer to hydrate your skin. When your skin is burnt by the sun; the natural moisture from the skin evaporates causing redness and dry skin. A moisturizer helps to add moisture to the top layers of your skin. Drinking plenty water and fruit juices will help to hydrate your skin internally. Avoid tea and coffee or any other drinks with caffeine as they absorb moisture from your body.
Soak a towel in milk and then apply it on the affected area. This will give immediate relief from any burning sensation. It also helps to avoid the skin from getting tanned. The natural fats and lactic acid in the milk provides instant relief.
