We would all like to lose weight and look fabulous, unfortunately not all of us can afford to invest in expensive surgeries and diet plans to help us achieve our goals. Well, I come with good news. You do not need to spend a dime to lose weight and you will be able to look fabulous.

 

The first step to losing weight without spending money is by keeping a journal that tracks everything you eat. A diary is a great way of tracking what you eat. If you feel bloated on a particular day you can check on what you have eaten to tell you what food made you feel the way you do. It is an excellent way to watch your weight. Be accurate and mention the portion size as well as the foods that you have served yourself during a meal. Make sure you also write down the amount of water you had in the day. You will begin to feel conscious if you over eat and automatically reduce your portion size and watch what you eat.

Read the nutrition labels on canned foods and processed foods. The label mentions the amount of vitamins, fats and carbohydrates of the food. It is a great way to know the nutritional value of the food you eat. You can also put own foods that are high in fats and look at better options that may not have as many fats in them.

The next step to losing weight is watching the size of the portions that you eat. We are accustomed to eating to our heart’s content. This is especially true when you are stressed out or upset. The key is to measure the amount of food you eat with a measuring cup. This allows you to reduce your portions gradually. This step helps you to save on cash. As you understand the amount of food you need to eat you will automatically cut down on your portions thereby leading to you spending lesser on groceries.

Look on the internet for sites that help you count the calories that you consume in the day. An initial survey will reveal the amount of calories you are consuming in the day and the number of calories that you need to consume in order to lose weight. This will be an exact estimation and will help you to tract the food that you eat and reduce your calories immediately. A calorie counter along with a journal that notes what you are eating is a sure way to help you to lose weight.

Cut down on the calories you gain from liquids. The sodas, colas and ice tea that you drink load you up with calories. You must cut down on these beverages immediately. Drink water instead. It is great for your system and keeps your skin and body healthy.
