How to Treat and Prevent Heat Rash

When our body temperature rises we begin to sweat. This is the body’s natural way of cooling down. The activities that we perform in our daily life including exercise lead to a rise in body temperature. If our body is unable to lower the temperature then it paves the way for heat related illnesses like rashes, boils, heat strokes and convulsions. This normally happens when you move from a relatively colder climate to a warmer one. It takes approximately 2 weeks for your body to acclimatize to the change in temperature.

In order to make sure that your body is cool and the temperature does not have negative effects on your health you must drink plenty of fluids. Water is the best; though you may opt for a few non caffeine non alcoholic based drinks. Orange juice is a great source of vitamin C; this vitamin helps to prevent heat related illnesses.

You must also make sure that your work and rest periods are in equal ratios. Do not over indulge in one or the other. This leads to your system getting exhausted and lowering your immune system; thereby increasing the chances of a heat stroke. Make sure that you conduct all activities in places that are well ventilated and places that do not cause suffocation. Blog sobre peces

Avoid being outdoors between 11 am and 4 pm; this is the hottest period of the day. If you are outdoors during this time then make sure that your body is getting plenty of hydration and that you are using a sun protective lotion and sun glasses to protect your eyes. Wear light colored clothes in natural fabrics. Avoid dark colors as the attract heat and synthetic fabrics that may increase the possibility and intensity of the rash. As far as possible you must reschedule activities for more pleasant parts of the day.

Besides the climatic conditions; stress and certain medications can also lead to heat stress. If your medication is the cause of the heat stress then you must make sure that you talk to your health care practitioner about the effects and look at alternative medicines that you can use. On the other hand if stress is causing you to break out in rashes then you must try to understand the cause of the stress and figure out ways to get rid of the stress.
