The energy required to move one molecule of sugar in the blood stream would be equivalent to the energy generated by 6 molecules of water so if you are out in the sun then remember to drink water often to avoid getting dehydrated. If dehydration occurs your blood sugar levels would rise. Remember the higher the blood sugar levels the more water you need to consume. If you have been suffering from diabetes for awhile then you should ensure that you have a time-table set up to help you remember to drink water at regular intervals.

It is also very important for you to realize that not everything that you see is good for you. Learn to control your buying by reading the contents on the items label. It is important to stick to the proper serving size. Don’t buy portions that are too small or too big as this would be harmful to your condition. Observe the carbohydrate and fat content on the label and take into account the total fiber and sugar content for total carbohydrate amount in the food. A person suffering from diabetes needs to be cautious about all the elements of food including sugar, carbohydrates, fats, proteins and calories.

As a diabetic; it is important that you exercise regularly to stay healthy. Apart from getting adequate exercise you should also know when to monitor your blood sugar. Meals should be smaller in size but more frequent and it is imperative that you get enough of rest.
