Herbalife Nutrition and Real Betis reforest a forest in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid)

The activity, which is part of the “Forever Green” project created by the Real Betis Balompié, aims to raise awareness of the current need to combat climate change. 25 Herbalife Nutrition volunteers planted 365 trees in a coastal forest that had lost its forest ecosystem due to climate change and drought

Herbalife Nutrition, a company that specializes in nutrition firmly committed to the sustainability of the planet, has joined the project “Forever Green” promoted by the Real Betis Balompié, which is a sponsor. Under this agreement, on 16 November 25 employees of the company created the “Bosque Herbalife Nutrition – Forever Green” by reforesting a forest extension in the town of Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid). The event was attended by the president of the Royal Betis Foundation and director of Institutional Relations of the Verdiblanco Club, Rafael Gordillo.

Herbalife Nutrition's employees planted 356 trees (south forests, zarzamora, tarai, majuelo, saúco, olmo, strawberry, white chopo, oak, cork and cheese) in a coastal forest that had lost its forest due to climate change and drought.

With this action, Herbalife Nutrition contributes to the recovery of the forest mass of the area with new native species, in addition to regulating and balancing the climate, generating oxygen and counteracting CO2 emissions. Within the framework of its responsible company strategy and environmental management policies, the company contributes to the care of biodiversity and the fight against climate change.

Herbalife Nutrition will follow the state of the forest on a regular basis and during the first three years will be carried out maintenance and replenishment actions. Bosquia, a social company responsible for carrying out CSR projects and teamwork through the plantation of indigenous trees, will review and replenish annually the trees that have not been able to move forward.

“With our participation in the Forever Green initiative together with the Real Betis, we reinforce our environmental commitment to the planet and to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, as we are committed to a reforestation project that represents the reduction of part of the CO2 of the atmosphere,” says Tara López, CEO of Herbalife Nutrition Spain.

This activity is part of the various activities that Herbalife Nutrition is carrying out in recent years under the motto “Nutriendo a las personas y al planeta”.
