Instructions
Select the appropriate steak for broiling. Medium thick steak which is well marbled and is a rich red color should work quite well for broiling. Place it in a refrigerator.
Before cooking the steak, you need to prep the steak well. Remove the steak from a refrigerator and keep it aside for fifteen to twenty minutes. Now rub the steak with some salt, pepper and olive oil. For added flavors, you can soak the steak in vinegar and soy sauce. Allow the steak to rest in the marinade for some time before cooking.
Prepare the oven for broiling the steak. You will need to preheat the oven and pan to a broil for around fifteen to twenty minutes. Place the oven rack so that it is around four to six inches from the oven’s heating element.
Now place the steak in the oven pan and put it into the oven to broil. The cooking time will range from three to fifteen minutes based on the thickness of the steak, oven used and the altitude of cooking. Once the steak is cooked from one side, flip it once and cook the other side.
Check the edges to find out if the steak is done. If the edges turn from being red to slightly brown then the steak is cooked well. You can also cut into the steak to find out if it is cooked. A well done steak will be brownish inside with brown juices while a medium cooked steak will be pink with clear juices. Remove from the oven and allow the steak to rest for some time before serving.
