Difficulty Level
Very Easy.
Instructions
Husk the corn – Step one always will be to buy fresh corns and husk them before cooking. You may or may not want to remove the entire silk.
For sautéing the corn – After husking the corn take out the kernels using a knife. Care should be taken so as to avoid scraping the kernel pockets. Take out your pan and put it over medium heat. Add butter and the kernels and sauté for five minutes. Remove the pan from the flame and add lemon juice and salt over it. Serve hot.
Oven cooked corn – If you want to try cooking the corn using your microwave oven then first soak the corn on the cob in water. Place some heavy object over the corn otherwise they will end up floating. Remove the corn from the water and drain out. Put your corn inside the oven and cook for seven minutes. If you have two, then cook for eight minutes. Once done, remove and apply butter over the corn and sprinkle salt-pepper mix over it. Serve hot and enjoy.
Steaming your corn – Boil water in the steamer and place the steamer rack with the corn off the cob on it. Cover the steamer and let it cook for fifteen minutes. Switch off the flame and remove the corn using tongs. Once the corn is ready to handle, apply butter over it and sprinkle salt-pepper mix uniformly. Serve hot and enjoy.
Grilling your corn – For grilling make sure all loose silk and husk are removed from the corn. Put the corn on the cob in a pot containing water and make sure the corn stays submerged for atleast fifteen minutes or so. Prepare your grill by this time. If using charcoal grill put the charcoal in a pyramid shape, soak with the fluid and burn it. Once you see the ash coating, place the grate. On the other hand remove the corn from the water and drain it. Put the corn now on the grate and cover it.
Turn it every five minute or so for uniform cooking. The ears of the corn will become brown and sometime even catch fire. But do not worry it is perfectly normal. By the time the corn gets cooked, the corn on the cob will look all burned up (only from the outside). Remove it from the grill, take out all the silk and serve hot after applying the butter and salt-pepper mix.
