  • Take one medium sized and properly ripe banana. Care should be taken to avoid the over ripe ones as it gives a different flavor to the final product. Peel and chop banana to small pieces and add to a blender.
  • Pour 400 ml low fat chilled milk to the blender. Thereafter combine it with two drops of vanilla extract, two teaspoon sugar and one drop yellow color however the addition of color is optional. Whip the entire mixture till it becomes frothy.
  • Take a small piece of banana and chop it in to very small pieces and add these pieces to the bottom of two tall glasses. Pour the frothy and chilled shake to each glass and serve chilled.
  • Those who prefer different flavors can add nutmeg or almond extract or cinnamon to the above mixture while blending. The banana shake can even be garnished with ground cinnamon.
  • For making a rich banana shake, replace the 400 ml milk with one cup milk and four scoops of vanilla ice cream. This will provide a more creamy and delicious banana shake. For a chocolate version of banana shake add chocolate ice cream instead of the vanilla ice cream. One can cut down the calories by choosing low fat ice creams and can enjoy the same richness and taste.
