Making the spaghetti noodles: In a large pot filled cold water and heat it until it starts boiling. After that, lower the heat of the stove and set it to medium-high and then add the noodles in that water. One serving of cooked spaghetti equals to two ounces of dry spaghetti noodles. As per the number of servings you want to serve find out the amount of dry spaghetti noodles you will have to prepare. For better results, cook a little more of the spaghetti noodles.
Preparing the spaghetti Sauce: In a four-quart pot, Heat two to three tbsp. of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add one big chopped onion and then add two cloves of fresh garlic. Stir the mixture unless you find some softness in the onion. Stir well so as to crumble the mixture and then add one pound of ground beef. Once the beef is cooked, add 1/3 cup of red wine, 1 28-oz. can of diced tomatoes, one cup of beef broth , 1 28-oz. can of tomato sauce, and two table spoon of oregano and dried basil. Once done, add salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.
Variations: There are various variations that come in spaghetti sauce. Some include fresh green peppers and fresh mushrooms, diced or sliced and added to the sauce whereas some recipes exclude beef broth and wine. Another variation includes adding 1/4 cup of cream before serving to give the sauce a rich texture.
