The healthiest challenge in Europe has already gone on, and never better said. With only 3 months since its launch, about 10,000 followers have joined the challenge on social networks. This is the new European promotion program “CuTE Healthy – Cultivating a Healthy Europe with Fruit and vegetables from EUROPE” (2021-2023), launched by FruitVegetablesEUROPE and whose objective is to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the context of good food practices and generate a social and consumption movement of at least five rations daily, as recommended by experts.

 

In addition to the thousands of users who have joined #Longlifechallenge, the campaign spot has reached 25 million people, and more than 115,000 have visited the website https://longlifechallenge.eu/ showing tips and recipes to successfully overcome this synonymous health challenge.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), only 14.3 per cent of European consumers take five or more pieces a day of fruits and vegetables; and warn that low consumption of these foods increases the risk of disease. In addition, more than a quarter of the world ' s population does not perform sufficient physical activity. Two health problems to be addressed #longlifechallenge.

For the next three years, in the four target countries (Spain, France, Germany and Belgium), a TV advertising campaign, outdoor support and point of sale will be developed. Various challenges will also be launched on social networks and public relations actions. The campaign is under the slogan “COMPITE FOR A BEST LIFE consuming at least 5 fruits and vegetables a day ... Join #longlifechallenge”. The contents that are published will also compete for providing a better life. Thus, the season of fruits and vegetables chosen for the campaign will be key to knowing how to get the best match. Each of the 7 types of fruits and vegetables that are part of the campaign has its own season:

• Orange: Between October and May

• Clementine: From October to January

• Mandarin: Between October and April

• Broccoli: All year round

• Green asparagus: From February to June

• Polish apple: Available all year

• Arándano: From July to September

• French strawberry: From March to October

Olympic support for the entire campaign
During the 3 years #longlifechallengethe five Olympic medalists who have sponsored the project will help with their advice and support to reach all European homes. Specifically the figures of Olympic sportsmen will be seen as Ona Carbonell (woman with more medals in the history of the world of swimming); Lydia Valentín (Olympic Champion in London 2012,); French Florent Manaudou (silver medal in the 50-metre free at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games; German Sebastian Brendel (slow water in Tokyo 2020) and the Polish cyclist Maja Włoszczowska (medal of silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016 in the field mode through) support the promotional campaign as prescriptors

The initiative is promoted by the consortium ‘CuTE Healthy’, made up of FruitVegetablesEUROPE and national associations of fruits and vegetables of Spain, France and Poland (CGC, AOPn Fraises de France – Asociación Nacional de producers de Fresas de Francia-, More Brócoli, Asociación Polaca de Grupos Produceres de Frutas y Verduras – KZGPOiW and Interprofesional del Esparaago Verde de España). The actions will focus on four target countries: Belgium, Germany, France and Spain.
