DR Healthcare, a business unit of AB Biotek, part of the Associated British Foods multinational, has announced the final program for the first International Congress on DAO Deficit, which will take place next Thursday, November 4.
The day, which will be transmitted virtually from 10h to 18:45h, will have medical and scientific experts to discuss the most outstanding advances in the treatment of the oxidase diamino deficit (DAO), a disorder that affects people with migraines, fibromyalgia, intestinal problems, skin, impaired care and hyperactivity (ADHD), among other pathologies.
DAO is an intestinal enzyme that naturally segregates the human body, although it can also be consumed as a nutritional supplement to treat its deficit, which usually results in histamine disorders, a problem facing millions of people around the world.
The opening session will be held by Dr. Ma Carmen Vidal-Carou, Professor of Nutrition and Bromatology and Director of the Food and Nutrition Campus of the University of Barcelona, who will discuss histamine intolerance.
During the day, experts will participate in fields as diverse as the digestive system, neurology, genetics, psychiatry, allergy and nutrition, all linked to the DAO deficit and its disorders, such as Dr. Oriol Comas-Basté, Dr. Walburga Dieterich, Dr. Eva Ruiz Casares, Dr. Hilario Blasco-Fontecilla, or Dr. Joan Izquierdo, among others.
