The relationship between balanced nutrition and its influence on health is a growing concern among the population, the result of new health environments, lifestyles, food etc. that impact more and more on the day to day of people
According to a survey conducted by Herbalife Nutrition among its community of network followers, there is a consensus – 98% – about the weight of nutrition for healthy and sustainable aging, as well as for the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
In line with this trend, the specialized portal iSanidad and Herbalife Nutrition have convened the I Edition of Research Aids. Directed to health professionals, these awards will support research projects in the area of nutrition, especially those focused on how to develop a long-term sustainable and healthy lifestyle that avoids the risk of disease and contributes to healthy aging. Closed the deadline for submission of nominations, the jury is analyzing the projects presented, which have revolved around the circadian health and the role of nutrition, sustainability and support of the food patterns in the child and young population, review of the state of the intestinal microbiota of our society, properties of certain foods in improving the health and influence of active life in degenerative and ageing processes, among other topics presented
This first edition of the awards includes a first prize of €5,000 and a second of €3,500, which will be allocated under the responsibility of a scientific committee made up of Dr. Clotilde Vázquez, head of the Department of Endocrinology and Nutrition at Fundación Jiménez Díaz University Hospital; Dr. Ramón Estruch, senior consultant of the Internal Medicine Service at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona; and Dr. Julián Álvarez, Deporter Support Unit CTD Alicante and member of the Advisory Council on Herbalife Nutrition Nutrition. With a medical profile related to medicine, pharmacy or nutrition, the average age of candidates who have accessed these aids is around 40 years old, which shows the interest of the health community for a continuous training that generates added value to improve the health of their patients.
For the Dr. Clotilde Vázquez, “the researchers have a great need for resources to be able to answer our questions. Although it sounds a bit like a repetitive or dramatic phrase, the research world is sometimes very agonized by low project funding, which compromises even studies. That is why this I Edition of Research Aids in the field of nutrition is highly welcome and safe will be a very interesting support and encouragement for researchers.”
With the call for these grants, Herbalife Nutrition wants to support and foster a dialogue with the health research world in Spain on innovation and trends in sustainable nutrition. Florence Braga, Director of Scientific Affairs in Europe of Herbalife Nutrition, emphasizes that “the advancement of science is a key element in improving the health and nutrition of the population. We want to listen to the ideas of health professionals and help them transform them into facts.”
These research aids are part of other company initiatives in the area of research promotion and scientific training continue in nutrition. For the third consecutive year, he has launched through the training platform of Diario Médico his course “Nutrimental Concepts with Clinical Impact”, a training for which more than 3,000 health professionals have already passed.
