The Million Dollar Vegan association, known for launching very media campaigns such as those in which Pope Francis and the President of the United States were challenged to vegan in exchange for a million dollars, will donate food worth 100,000 dollars in several countries of the world, including Spain.

Within the framework of the international campaign # Let's get the Menu epidemics, Million Dollar Vegan he has distributed during the weekend in 8 hospitals and a nursing home in Madrid, in collaboration with several businesses in the capital, 700 menus of vegan food, soaps and also “savedorejas”, to protect the health personnel from the discomfort caused by the mascarilla by wearing it all day.

Remove the pandemics from the menu eating more vegetable
Million Dollar Vegan was born in order to create a partnership on how the exploitation and consumption of animals cause zoonotic diseases and resistance to antibiotics, something that constitutes a global risk for the planet and that affects the environment, the animals themselves, and human health.

The new campaign, which seeks to ‘care those who care for us’ during the health crisis, has the support of international projection experts in the field of science and medicine like Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Neal Barnard or Dr. Aysha Akhtar.

“Claiming the animals of our dishes collectively would contribute a lot to the prevention of future pandemics and help improve our health and the environment,” says Dr. Barnard.

Also in our country, Dr. María Mimbrero, specializing in cardiology at the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, notes: “COVID-19 causes more mortality in people with cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension or overweight, which are closely related to poor diets in vegetables. A healthy plant-based diet is anti-inflammatory, improves our immune system, modifies these risk factors and can make us stronger against future pandemics.”

Alfonso Senovilla, Veterinario Oficial de Salud Pública de la Consejería de Sanidad de la Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha warns that “to ensure public health it is essential to respect the animals, stop exploiting them and improve their living conditions”.

A global campaign
Not only in our country, also in the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, India, Ethiopia and the United States are supplying vegan menus to health professionals and also vulnerable groups such as homeless people and disadvantaged communities.
