Vegan onion rings (no egg or dairy)

Onion rings are a typical American appetizer that at home have never been very successful. We don't almost never go to fast-food restaurants and once we've gone and ordered onion rings, the truth is that they didn't like much: the bounce was not crunchy and was too abundant, so the onion of its inside could be anything.

This recipe of vegan onion rings has reconciled us with this quick and easy snack (if you want other recipes very fast to make, to main dishes, in 20 minutes or less, click here). In these rings, egg and milk are not used, only chickpeas flour as a star ingredient, so you add protein without having to resort to the egg. If you also use an extra soft virgin olive oil well hot to fry them and remove the excess fat with an absorbing paper, you will have an incoming nothing heavy, perfect for a spike for the whole family.

The ingredients you will need are the following:

An onion;

chickpeas flour;

grated bread;

salt;

ground black pepper;

baking powder or Royal© yeast;

water.

One. In a large bowl mix 200 gr of chickpeas flour with half over (about 5 gr) yeast. Put 100 gr of water and move with a few rods until we grow. Add salt to taste and ground black pepper and mix everything well, a semi-liquid mass should remain, like a tempura.

Two. Put bread in a fountain. You can use one with garlic and parsley if you prefer it (I like it more). Cut the onion into rings and pack them in the tempura. Pass them, one by one, through the bread and reserve.

3o. Fry the rings in extra virgin olive oil or hot sunflower oil. Turn them around and pull them out when they're golden. Put in a varia fountain capable of absorbing paper of kitchen and place the hoops on top to remove excess oil.

This recipe has no eggs or dairy, so it is not only suitable for vegans, also for egg or lactose intolerants. I'm warning you that they're very rich. That's why they'll become regular once you try them. My children ask me to accompany the Almeria style crumbs, the favourites at home (you can see the recipe) If you click here).
