Fresh or frozen, their price and ease of finding them makes it a basic ingredient in many kitchens. If you also prepare food on Sunday for the rest of the week, this is a dish of the most complete, which lasts in summer perfectly four or five days in the fridge. And it cooks in less than 20 minutes!

The ingredients you will need are:

  • 500 gr of fresh beans (without the pod) or frozen.
  • 200 grams of onion or brush.
  • 1 garlic tooth.
  • 100 gr of very chopped ham.
  • 100 ml (half glass) of white wine.
  • 200 ml (a glass) of water.
  • 25 ml extra virgin olive oil.
  • A pinch of ground black pepper (optional).
  • Go to taste.

To make them the traditional way, the onion and garlic are very good. Put them in a large skillet in the oil until the onion starts to take color and add the habas (if frozen, unfreeze) and the ham cut in taquitos. It stirs well to integrate all the ingredients. When a few minutes pass, add the wine, water, salt and if you want some ground black pepper. Let all boil until the beans are tender and most of the liquid has evaporated (about 20 minutes). Rectify salt if necessary and serve if you want a fried egg. If you want to reduce calories, cook a poche egg or bake an egg and throw it over the beans in the last minute. If you want to use your Thermomix©️ or Monsieur Cuisine Plus©️ just follow the following steps:

  1. Pour in quarters the onion and garlic tooth and pour into the glass. Pike 8 seconds/speed 4. Lower the remains to the blades, pour into the glass the 25ml of oil and program 8 minutes/Varoma/speed 1.
  2. Add the habas and ham very chopped (it can be if you want in squares), along with water, white wine and salt and program 17 minutes/Varoma/ turn left/speed spoon. If they are not yet tender, program three more minutes at the same speed and temperature.
